Questions

In this time, I'm gonna talk about some varied topics.

First, the violence on television. I think isn't that bad. Obviously children shouldn't see it but parents have the responsibility to monitor what their kids see, because it's not the only place where they can find violence. Anyway, I think it's good to put warnings about the content type to be given, because not all people like it, and nobody can know what kind of programming is going to be transmitted on television in the moment.

Another topic is Adopting. Adopt kids is not simple. If a person or couple, anyone, want to adopt a child, they must have the necessary for it, money, the capacity, be responsible, and be prepared, to be aware about what means to take care of a child. Talking about pets, I think it's the best, because there are a lot of poor abandoned or homeless animals that expect and need to have a family, someone who loves them and takes care of them.

This is a bit related with the previous one, it carries a lot of responsibility to have a pet in home.In my opinion, this is a bit difficult, sometimes people think that is too easy and get a pet with no idea of the thing they just already do. They must have a pet according to the available capacity, the money they have, and most importantly, they should want to have it. It makes no sense if the pet will later be abandoned, and it will be left without the due care and the affection it needs.

And finally, recycling. This is too long, the problem of the situation in the planet already is too much. I say that, is good, of course, but it need more scope, and more interested people, although in this time the quantity has grown. Places to recycle are not within reach of all, and when it comes to things like batteries its even more difficult. The time for doing something about this is almost gone.

Postgraduate

For postgraduate education, the options I want are molecular biotechnology (here we go again) or biochemistry. Really, I think the option of a master in biochemistry is more possible than a doctorate in molecular biotechnology, I'm thinking is just a stupid obsession for now, and probably in the future, when I finish studying my current career, I will finally leave that idea, or that's what I hope.

Talking about the master, which is the most likely option, I could do it in the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, of University of Chile. The lines of investigation that more catch my attention are biochemistry of proteins and biotechnology, or toxicological biochemistry and molecular diagnostic. Although there are also environmental biochemistry, and clinical biochemistry. If I could, I would see the possibility of working while doing the master, but that can be hard, so it's more probably that I will have to work and get savings, and then do the master, more calmly and better.

It can change in the future, but now I would prefer biochemistry of proteins and biotechnology. Enzymes, toxins and peptides are investigated here, for design new medicines, or give them other uses such as industrial, environmental, generally biotechnological. I find it very interesting, because recently I saw a story where some scientists managed to obtain an antibiotic from a natural polymer, lacking toxic effects, and I think this is really important, because it give a new approach. It had problems of solubility, but was compensated, and with that they got something better than they had already, with properties just as potent as a modern antibiotics. I know that is necessary continue studying after finish the career, but I just loved this, and I'm very excited to continue studying, both now and in the future.

Future job

I would like to be able to work like a professional illustrator, but not that simple, drawing really cool and difficult thing that looks like almost 3-D illustrations, even be able to animate it, or who knows, do animations. But, all people says "if you study that, your gonna starve" or "your gonna work on McDonald's". Maybe that's not only a joke, maybe is true, but now that I don't have time to draw, and I couldn't learn how to color better and that stuff, this doesn't matter anymore.

I'm studying chemistry and pharmacy, because statistically this career is really nice, both for employability and for salary, and I was interested in science too, so i thought "is not bad staying in this". It could be possible to go out of the country for job if someone do it really good, but I don´t think much that idea.

I would like to work on a laboratory, I imagine too many things about this, probably impossible, having my own laboratory, and having a lot of things to do investigations of all kinds, maybe along with molecular biotechnology, and be able to do new stuff to help people. With that news about the chips that regulate the administration of medicines, which even help for cancer, with this so important, it could be my vision is not really that far as I think.

In this time I'm trying to read scientist investigations, some of they are just things that we see now in class, and others are very complicated, but interesting too, and studying it can be better understood. So, I try to be a good student and do my best, for be able to do a lot in the future.

Mistakes

When I was in the last year of secondary school, Chemistry was easy for me, the most part of the time, but, one day something happened. We was going to have a test, and I was ready like always. The test had a part of concepts and the other part of some exercises, stoichiometry if I remember correctly, and well, the test started and our teacher wrote some formulas in the blackboard for helping us, just for a few minutes. The time had finished and I was happy because I felt that I had completed the most part of the questions right.
The day that the teacher gave us back our tests, she said that she was going to let us look it first, for look the points, if all was in order, and then she was gonna call us in list order for put the mark in the book of class, or correct if it was necessary. I was nervous but expecting the best, and then, she looked at me and said sadly "what happened?". I had obtained a red mark, a 3 and something, I had a few tenths for before homework, and she also knew that I always put attention and completed the homework, so she puts me a 4.  The thing that happened was that I got confused for one sign in the formula, and that make that all the development and results of the exercises was wrong. After that, Chemistry got hard for the rest of the year for me.
I always remember that day, and I said that it couldn't happened ever again. And then, I got in the University. Test of introduction to calculus, and I was ready for the most part, except trigonometry, but in that moment it didn't care to me. I got out of the room, I was sure that in the part of "potential and exponential functions" and "limits", was almost all right. But, surprise, the first part was right, but, here we go again, in the limits part I got confused by a sign and, instead of adding, I subtracted, and with that all the rest go bad too.
Don't be like me, if there's time to go slowly, or for check that is all right, do it, not matter the nerves, or the desire to just finish and leave. And this doesn't go necessarily for things like this, if you have time to do something that you really want but don't do just for excuses, think it again, it can make an important change.

Profession

The options of career that I had thought for university inscription was Chemistry and Pharmacy, people told me to choose it because it "was for me", and Chemistry just because I had to put at least three options in the inscription, and the career that I want, "molecular biotechnology" that it was just in U de Chile, just disappear that day, it wasn't in the options for choose.

I like a lot science, and I used to imagine working on a laboratory, doing cool things with substances and have the capacity to create things whit mixing compounds, but Chemistry and Pharmacy, are obviously a lot more complicated that just do things like that. And I knew it, with the past of time I got more excited for learn more and stay in this career.

From the other part, work with medicines means work literally with drugs, and it is hard; in the most of labor fields of this career is present this factor. If someone got just one more milligram of some medication, it can be fatal. Even if you're in the industry, a little detail can suppose a really big mistake.

Anyway, in all jobs, or in one's own life, if someone does a mistake, it haves consequences. It can be difficult, but i really hope that some day I can know a lot about this, like the medication components, how they work, how it can be made, be able to make it, and be able to help people as a good professional.

I would like to go to South Korea, it is in the east of Asia. It´s capital is Seoul and a great part of the world population lives here, just a bit less than in Tokyo.

The new culture of there like novels or popular music specially, has expanded a lot  in the last time, in many parts of the world. I love K-pop, but they have to work very hard to do it, choreography specially, needs a lot of work too, it's very difficult, but it is so cool.
I think that I really could not live or stay a long time in there, because they have a culture totally different, and a lot more demanding, for students as much as adult people, but i want to visit it and do things like eat gyeanmari, that is a omelette rolled up with some coconut oil, and a bit of carrot and chives; eat bibimbap, that has meat, vegetables, rice and egg, with soy sauce; go to the Cheonggyecheon stream and to the Namdaemun market.
South korea is a populated place, but a beautiful place too. Would you like to visit it someday?
